AJ designer floor lamp – adjustable light alignment

The AJ floor lamp has become a design classic since it was created in 1957 by Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen. Jacobsen developed the series of lights, named after its creative designer, as part of his overall concept for the SAS Royal (Radisson) Hotel in Copenhagen. Some elements of this hotel interior have become true design icons, including the purist AJ floor lamp.

The viewer's focus is drawn to the lampshade, which is cone-shaped at the bottom and cylindrical at the top, naturally shaping the light it emits. The lampshade can be adjusted so that the light is directed in the desired direction. The inside of the lampshade is finished in white lacquer, which ensures ideal reflection and efficient light emission. It is conveniently operated via the integrated foot switch.

The AJ floor lamp is a product of the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, which has been presenting light in its most beautiful form since its foundation in 1874. Louis Poulsen is a pioneer of Scandinavian design and offers lighting based on the principle of "form follows function".
