High-gloss lacquered Kaiser idell™ pendant light – a classic of Bauhaus design
This pendant light is part of the unique Kaiser idell™ series of lights by German designer Christian Dell (1893–1974) and was designed in 1931. Christian Dell, a trained silversmith, teacher of industrial design and master craftsman at the Weimar Bauhaus from 1922 to 1925, created the legendary series of lights in the 1930s. Today, it is manufactured by FRITZ HANSEN, the Danish lighting company founded in 1872 by carpenter Fritz Hansen after he obtained a trading licence for Copenhagen, and which has been synonymous with exquisite design ever since. Now 75% owned by Skandinavisk Holding, FRITZ HANSEN continues to stand for innovative designs that are crafted to the highest standards.
The Kaiser idell™ pendant light is a symbol of elegant Bauhaus design and exquisite materials. It adds a special touch to any interior and is ideal for general lighting, but also for illuminating a dining table, for example. An absolute eye-catcher, whether switched on or off.
