Toio Limited Edition - special edition for the 100th birthday of Achille Castiglioni

The floor lamp Toio is a classic in the range of designer lighting manufacturer FLOS from Italy. In fact, the original design for this relatively unconventional floor lamp dates back to 1962, when Italian designer and architect Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) created this lamp together with his brother Pier Giacomo.

Castiglioni is known as a designer who is committed to the ready-made concept, which means that for his designs he misappropriates everyday objects instead of inventing a completely new object. For the Toio floor lamp, for example, a car headlight was used as the lamp head in the first design. The transformer serves as the base, which at the same time gives the lamp stability. The height-adjustable arm and the guidance of the cable through three rings are reminiscent of a fishing rod.

The limited special edition of this classic lamp is released on the 100th anniversary of its creator and is equipped with a contemporary LED bulb, which was made specifically for this lamp. A hologram with serial number and an enclosed booklet serve as a certificate of authenticity.
