Wooden lights for a home with heart and style

Wooden lamps are a good choice when it comes to a natural and cosy style in the living room. Wooden lamps and lampshades are available in every shade of brown and every conceivable surface structure and grain: from wafer-thin veneer to rustic driftwood. Wooden lights can be combined with a wide variety of trends - from Scandi to country house to minimalism, wooden lights add a cosy touch to living rooms, bedrooms and kitchens.

Natural chic made from rattan & bamboo

Rattan and bamboo come in shades ranging from light to dark brown – and are often available in bright colours too. In a trendy symbiosis with modern LED light sources, flair enters our living rooms, creating a uniquely cosy atmosphere, not least thanks to the play of light and shadow on the walls. As far as styles are concerned, bamboo and rattan lamps are not fixed and are equally at home in a Scandi living room or a boho bedroom.

Good to know: What exactly is the difference between bamboo and rattan?

Bamboo and rattan lights look similar and are both robust to work with, although rattan is slightly more flexible and is better suited to weaving. While bamboo belongs to the grass family and is at home all over the world except for Europe, rattan grows mainly in tropical regions and is a climbing palm. Both materials are sustainable, but bamboo grows back even faster and is therefore ahead.

Pure harmony: cotton meets light

Cotton lampshades are the perfect creative canvas for warm white light. Thanks to its natural texture, the light penetrates the room in a particularly diffuse way and spreads an inviting flair in the living room, bedroom and dining room. Cotton shades harmonise particularly well with modern, Scandinavian and classic interiors such as the country house style. The best thing is that cotton is easy to dye and print, so there is great potential for variety in terms of design.

Pure elegance with marble lamps

Lights made from marble are a must-have when it comes to interior design trends such as purist style or modern style. But not all marble is the same. This is because different colours and grains result depending on the composition - for vibrant, unique pieces in living spaces. From the arc lamp with marble base to the table lamp, everything is available. Also available in material combinations with glass or metals.

Paper lamps as eye-catchers

Hand-folded lampshades made from handmade paper are a testament to craftsmanship and guarantee atmospheric lighting. The natural material with its many facets emphasises statements of different living styles in a particularly harmonious way. For example, with rice paper lampshades in Japandi chic or with pastel-coloured, bulbous shades with a boho and Scandi flair.

Natural chic made from seagrass, raffia & abacá

Lampshades made of seagrass, raffia and abacá complete the natural chic look. Woven shades in creative patterns are eye-catching additions to our four walls that go particularly well with Scandi, Boho or even Japandi. For designs with visible light sources, nostalgic filament lamps are particularly suitable for emphasising the naturally warm style.

Good to know: What is the difference between seagrass, raffia and abacá?

Although all three materials are made from natural fibres, there are some interesting differences: seagrass comes from maritime regions and is obtained from aquatic plants, which gives it a firm and slightly rough texture. Raffia is made from the leaves of the raffia palm and is particularly supple, making it ideal for delicately woven lampshades. Abacá, a product of the banana plant and also known as banana hemp, delights us with its robust, flexible texture. All three materials are sustainable and biodegradable - so they are not only a benefit in terms of aesthetics, but also for the environment.

Artful room lighting with plaster lamps

Lighting ideas from Gips captivate with their versatility: the understated elegance of linear designs fits perfectly into modern interiors, whilst designs featuring delicate perforated patterns cast enchanting light effects onto the walls. Curved shapes, inspired by nature, lend the lamps an organic lightness. Gypsum as a material not only impresses with its versatility, but also with its naturalness: the mineral material is environmentally friendly and recyclable. Tip: DIY enthusiasts can simply paint or decorate plaster lamps themselves.

Felt lampshades for warm moments of light

Various materials are suitable for producing the trendy, mostly grey fabric: Felt can be made from sheep's wool, cotton, silk or hemp, for example. As a lampshade, the material creates an exceptionally cosy and warm atmosphere - especially when combined with wood. And felt lampshades in colourful shades from red to blue also contribute to a cosy ambience.

Jute and linen conjure up atmosphere in any room

Lampshades made of jute and linen inevitably bring cosiness into our four walls. The fine, high-quality linen shades will add a modern, timeless Scandi style to living rooms, dining rooms and the like. Jute shades, on the other hand, come into their own in boho and vintage ambience and impress with cosy, diffuse lighting effects. For natural flair, both materials are an integral part of the interior.

Good to know: What is the difference between jute and linen?

Jute is a natural fibre obtained from the stalks of the jute plant, while linen is made from the fibres of the flax plant. Linen has a smoother, finer surface than jute, giving it a more elegant appearance. Jute allows the light to shine through the lampshade more irregularly than linen, as the fibres are thicker and coarser. Linen shades distribute the light more gently and evenly.

Iridescent mother-of-pearl shell lamps

Shell lamps with their spectacular lighting effect and fascinating reflections are not only visually impressive. Some models also offer soothing acoustic added value - for example, the Fun series of shell lamps by cult designer Verner Panton, in which many mother-of-pearl leaves hang side by side and produce gentle sounds at the slightest breeze. If you like it extravagant, you should also opt for mother-of-pearl because the special surface structure creates an iridescent sheen when exposed to light.

Concrete lamps as bold statements

Take limestone, sand and gravel. The result is a trendy material that has become an indispensable part of interior design: Concrete is the perfect match for industrial chic. But the natural mixture is also available for minimalist or pompous lighting ideas. Pendant, table and ceiling lamps made of concrete are particularly eye-catching when combined with atmospheric filament lamps or in a material mix with wood.
