White lampshades with a copper core: the 3-bulb ‘Acorn’ hanging light

The 3-bulb ‘Acorn’ hanging light can rightly be described as a successful collaboration between two Scandinavian designers. The lampshades and suspension system are individual designs by Jacob Rudbeck and Søren Ravn Christensen respectively.

Jacob Rudbeck drew inspiration from nature for the lampshade design, which is reflected not only in the shape of the lampshades but also in their names. In both cases, the acorn served as the inspiration. Rudbeck transferred its rounded square shape to his lampshades. With the silicone cap, the clear glass walls and the copper-coloured metal core, he has perfected the reference to the acorn.

Søren Ravn Christensen’s ‘Cannonball Cluster’ suspension system completes the lampshades to form a 3-bulb pendant light, the appearance of which can even be varied by mounting the lampshades at the same height or at different heights.
