Louis Poulsen AJ - Designer table lamp, black

The AJ designer table lamp has a swivelling head and impresses with its clear, absolutely timeless design that harmonises with numerous interior styles. The lampshade is a symbiosis of a cylindrical shape in the upper section and a conical shape in the lower section. It emits light directly, and the swivel head allows the light to be directed as needed. The inside of the lampshade is painted white for optimal reflection. This achieves both efficient light control and a soft lighting atmosphere with a pleasant character. The switch is integrated into the lamp base.

The AJ table lamp was originally designed in 1957 for the SAS Royal (Radisson) Hotel in Copenhagen. Designer, journalist, architect, author and critic Arne Jacobsen was commissioned to design the entire hotel and also created some of the furnishings. Several of the furniture and series of lights have become classics of interior design.

With its combination of purism and functionalism, AJ is a prime example of the concept of Danish manufacturer Louis Poulsen, a lighting company founded in 1874 that is known for the simple and appealing design of its products.
