Koral - Floor lamp from the 3D printer
German company Tagwerk has turned to mass production of consumer goods using the 3D printer to produce its lights on-site at a German manufacturing facility. 3D printing has tended to be used for producing samples and such. But producing an item with no production waste, no noise pollution, and from recyclable or recycled materials is simply forward-thinking when it comes to climate-neutral production.
The Koral floor lamp is made of PETG material, for which old PET bottles were used. This material can be recycled at the end of its life and returned to the industrial cycle. In terms of durability and heat resistance, PETG can compete with conventional materials. It is just as robust and heat-resistant up to 80 degrees.
