Kartell Light-Air table lamp with fabric shade

A combination of plastic and fabric – the Light-Air LED table lamp by Eugeni Quitllet

This table lamp is made almost entirely of thermoplastic technopolymer, a type of plastic, but it also features a second fabric lampshade beneath the plastic lampshade. This additional fabric lampshade creates a combination of plastic and fabric, which, incidentally, further softens the light and thus creates a cosy atmosphere. This table lamp was designed by Eugeni Quitllet, a Catalan designer, for the Kartell brand. The lamp’s structure is reminiscent of a lampshade clamped into a picture frame.

Kartell was founded in 1949 and has since been renowned for its plastic creations, particularly in the field of furniture. In addition to the numerous awards the company has received for its unique and innovative ideas, it has also established its own museum to honour the brand’s history and heritage. The responsible use of materials plays a particularly important role for the company.
