Chapeaux M LED table lamp – striking designer piece by Rodolfo Dordoni

Chapeaux M is part of a series of table lamps designed by Italian designer Rodolfo Dordoni for Foscarini. Chapeaux is characterised by its hat-shaped diffuser.

Chapeaux is a table lamp based on maximum synthesis and simplification, consisting of three parts that are simply stacked on top of each other. A Pyrex support that almost disappears from view, a floating light core that encloses and conceals all technical components, and a metal lampshade that sits on the frame like a hat.

The lamp is elegant and discreet when not in use and creates a surprising effect when switched on. The light is indirect and soft: it gently immerses itself in the transparent Pyrex body and makes its thickness noticeable. To achieve this, Foscarini has developed a special lighting element: a light source in the form of a small bottle that emits the light and reflects it on the sides, inside the diffusers, to achieve the desired effect.

Equipped with a touch dimmer: press once for 100% luminous intensity, twice for 70%, three times for 40% luminous intensity, and four times to switch off.

Rodolfo Dordoni, architect, product designer, artistic director and designer of showrooms and exhibitions, created some of the most famous Italian designs, such as the light Lumiere, which he designed for Foscarini.
