Attractively designed LED pendant light Maru made of bamboo veneer elements This beautiful pendant light with a tyre-shaped lampshade made of interconnected elements of bamboo veneer was created in 2018. David Trubridge, a well-known representative of Oko and slow design, creates wonderful furniture and lights that are inspired by his current living environment. Trubridge is actually English and a shipbuilder by trade and settled in New Zealand with his family many years ago. He was inspired by the diatoms that form the basis of the oceanic food chain to create the Maru design. The name Maru means life cycle in both Maori and Japanese, and the decorative lampshade is illuminated by LEDs. Maru can be used to create basic or area lighting, for example above a table, which bathes the surroundings in a fabulous light and also creates mysterious shadows. Maru is supplied disassembled in a small cardboard box to reduce CO2 consumption. Maru is easy to assemble using the enclosed instructions.
