Designer pendant light Kina with lattice-like lampshade made of sustainably sourced bamboo veneer The Kina pendant light creates a great interplay of light and shadow and is an eye-catcher even when switched off. Visually, the lampshade is modelled on New Zealand's saltwater sea urchin, which is also reflected in the name. Kina means sea urchin in the Maori language. Kina is suitable for basic or area lighting in many modern living spaces and attracts attention wherever it is placed. With its natural charm and unique lighting effect, Kina creates a cosy ambience. David Trubridge, the creative mind behind this fascinating luminaire design, was actually a shipbuilder in England before setting sail with his family in a sailing yacht and finally settling in New Zealand. Since then, inspired by his travels and the beauty of the Natur that surrounds him, he has dedicated himself to furniture and luminaire design. He attaches great importance to sustainably sourced materials. For Kina, he used bamboo veneer from sustainable timber production, which was cut and punched by machines powered by hydropower. To minimise CO2 consumption during transport, the lampshade is delivered in individual parts. This enables the volume of the lampshade to be reduced to 3% of the total volume.
