Multifunctional devices for comfort & safety

What are the advantages of outdoor lamps with motion detectors and cameras?

House and yard lighting

Outdoor lamps with cameras offer brightness levels of several 1,000 lumens, depending on the product. This ensures excellent illumination of the area.

Sensor-controlled monitoring

Thanks to the WLAN connection, cameras with sensors immediately send a push message to the smartphone when the motion detector is activated.

Two-way communication

When the postman or guests arrive, contact can be made immediately via the integrated intercom system - even when on holiday.

What do I need to bear in mind with outdoor cameras with light?

WLAN connection
WLAN connection

Outdoor lights with camera are integrated into the WLAN network. Before installation, it must be checked whether the WLAN reaches this part of the house.

SD card required

Separate SD cards with up to 64 GB are often required to record the high-resolution videos. These are not included.

Locations for outdoor lamps with camera

Front door

In addition to burglary protection, placement at the front door offers the possibility of communicating with visitors and postmen as well as optimum light for steps and easy location of the keyhole.

Driveway

Monitoring the garage door increases burglary protection. In addition, the sensor-controlled light provides optimum orientation when entering the garage or loading and unloading in the yard.

Terrace

Patio doors and all-glass fronts are frequent targets for burglars. High-intensity lighting deters unwanted guests and also fulfils the function of a normal outdoor light.

Garden

Burglars can approach the house from various access points. With detection angles of up to 180° and ranges of up to 10 m, it is easy to monitor the garden with a 2,000 lumen floodlight on the façade.

What legal conditions must be observed?

The use of outdoor cameras with light is subject to legal conditions. In addition, visitors to the property, e.g. postmen or guests, must be informed by signs or similar that the property is under video surveillance. Please also be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions and find out about local regulations.

What is allowed?

  • Filming your own property

What is prohibited?

  • Filming the neighbouring property
  • Filming roads and pavements
  • Unlawful filming of persons

An important note: If the camera records a burglar, the video may not be posted on the Internet as a private search request. The recordings must be handed over to the police!

Expert tip

Networked outdoor cameras can secure the property over a wide area. However, I pay particular attention to a few things: sensitive areas, including the neighbouring property, must not be captured by the cameras. In addition, I always use high-quality models from well-known brands for property surveillance. In addition to obvious reasons such as durability, battery life, image quality and weather resistance, I can rely on excellent data encryption and the fact that the software is regularly updated to prevent unauthorised access."
