Guise LED pendant light – a play of transparency and light

The connection between transparency and light served as inspiration for designer Stefan Diez when creating the Guise LED pendant light. When switched off, it is almost invisible due to its transparency, and when switched on, it fascinates the viewer with special lighting effects. This is where the name of the light, "Guise", comes from.

The light source is barely visible; only the glass itself seems to provide the bright light. This effect is achieved with the help of delicate engravings that refract the light from the barely visible LED strip, creating an intense glow. Stefan Diez received the Red Dot Design Award, among others, for the design of the Guise light.

In addition to its technical highlights, the light also scores points for its materials. The glass of the tube bulb is borosilicate glass, which is handmade by the internationally leading glass manufacturer Schott AG. The careful handcrafting process is particularly evident in the small imperfections in the glass, such as tiny air bubbles or inclusions, which make each light absolutely unique. A sensor on the top of the body of the pendant light allows the pendant light to be switched on and off and made dimmable.
