White and brass lampshade – the naturally inspired Acorn hanging light

Every autumn, they can be found in abundance: the beautiful fruits of the oak trees – the acorns – which served as the inspiration for the design of the Acorn hanging light.

Jacob Rudbeck, a Danish designer who consistently creates stunning products for major Scandinavian design labels, draws his inspiration from nature, which he describes as the world’s finest graphic designer.

This is evident in the Acorn hanging light, whose lampshade consists of three parts – a white silicone cap, organically shaped transparent glass, and a delicate core with a brass-coloured finish. Acorn is ideal for casting a soft, shimmering light over a dining table, for example, thereby creating a cosy atmosphere.

Rudbeck designed this attractive hanging light for the Danish lighting manufacturer UMAGE, which is committed to producing lights that embody the minimalist beauty and functionality of Scandinavian design whilst also taking it a step further.
