The designer David Abad (born 1967 in Barcelona) dedicated himself to designing lights and special lighting objects in his own company DAB from 1997 to 2011, and also manufactured lights. Through his new Studio David Abad Design (founded in 2012), he collaborates with various companies. He took over the creative direction of luminaire manufacturer B.Lux from Spain and was able to contribute his luminaire designs. As David Abad is also an engineer, he brings multidisciplinary experience and a clear, realistic view to his luminaire designs, without losing sight of beauty and functionality. David Abad has received numerous awards, including the German Design Award, the iF Design Award, the Red Dot Award and the Selección Delta award. B.Lux has been producing contemporary designer lights that combine modern lighting technology with functional design in its own production facilities near Bilbao since 1980.
