The rectangular OMLED One s5 OLED pendant light is fitted with organic OLEDs and was manufactured entirely in Germany. Thanks to its delicate suspension system, the slim body of the pendant light appears to float in the room as a plane of light. Glass, one of humanity’s oldest materials, plays a key role in the manufacturing process. It has been used in a wide variety of fields for many millennia, not least because of its virtually unlimited lifespan, its infinite versatility and the fact that it is produced from natural raw materials with inexhaustible reserves. It serves as a medium for light and is the perfect material for this role.

OMLED One is the world’s first series of lights to be fitted with OLEDs. These pioneering ‘organic light-emitting diodes’ combine many advantages. Between two electrically conductive layers lie thin layers of semiconducting organic materials, which serve as the bulb. The organic layer emits light as long as current flows. The glass luminaire housing acts as both a control element and a circuit board. The manufacturing process for the OMLED One s5 was developed and patented in Germany. Electronic components, conductive tracks, contacts and a dimmable circuit have been applied to the high-quality glass. The OLEDs and all electronic components are arranged directly on the glass. OLEDs consume little power and deliver an outstanding display, for example in smartphones and large-screen televisions. They produce a very natural, glare-free and pleasant light for living and working spaces that does not cause glare.
