Extravagantly designed PH Artichoke pendant light - a design icon This fantastic pendant light was created back in 1958 by Danish designer Poul Henningsen for the Langelinie restaurant in Copenhagen, where it still hangs today. The unique shape of the luminaire body, which is made up of 72 leaf-like elements, characterises the PH Artichoke and is reminiscent of a sculpture. No matter from which side you look at the PH Artichoke pendant light, the result is completely glare-free lighting. Even today, the PH Artichoke is still largely handcrafted to ensure consistent first-class quality. With this luminaire object, Poul Poul Henningsen, who throughout his career was always looking for new ways to transport glare-free light into the room, has created a true design icon that enjoys a high level of recognition worldwide.

The designer, who also made a name for himself as an architect, writer and journalist, worked from 1925 until his death in 1967 with the Danish lighting manufacturer Louis Poulsen, whose products were designed according to the principle of "form follows function", always endeavouring to satisfy the human need for light in the best possible way.
