Pendant light and light therapy in one: Candeo from Innolux Finnish designer Katriina Nuutinen has collaborated with designer lighting manufacturer Innolux to create a pendant light that not only provides general lighting, but can also be used for light therapy. Especially in the winter months, when there is little daylight in many places, this type of light therapy can prevent or alleviate seasonal depression. The aluminium shade of the Candeo pendant light is closed at the bottom with an acrylic panel, so that the light can escape without glare. There are two bulbs with different sockets inside the lampshade. One is used for general lighting, the other for light therapy. A small switch on the lampshade is used to switch between the two bulbs. Another practical feature is the ability to adjust the height directly on the cable. To reap the benefits of light therapy, you should spend about one to two hours a day in the immediate vicinity of the light. The duration depends on the proximity to the light source and therefore the luminous intensity. It is not necessary to always turn your face directly towards the light source, but light should always fall on your eyes. This ensures that the light is absorbed by the receptors in the eye.
