Minneapolis pendant light with minimalist charm In 1984, the Danish designer duo Knud Friis & Elmar Moltke Nielsen created a series of luminaires to furnish the Scanticon Hotel and Conference Centre (now Crown Plaza) in Minneapolis. The series comprised pendant lights, table lamps, floor lamps and wall lights with an almost Japanese look. The lampshade and canopy are made of metal and painted in the same colour. The suspension system consists of a textile-coated cable in black. Minnesota emits light over a large area and is ideal for table lighting, for example. In addition to use in private rooms, the Minnesota pendant light is also ideal for furnishing Hotels. The Friis & Moltke design studio was founded in 1955 and has its headquarters in Aarhus and branches in Copenhagen and Aalborg. The company now has 50 employees and creates designs for furniture and lights. The Minnesota light series is produced by the Danish light manufacturer Frandsen in Skanderborg (Denmark). The company attaches great importance to industrial functionality and high-quality workmanship of its products using traditional craftsmanship.
