Classic lampshade shape in the Ktribe S1 designer pendant light by Philippe Starck

The Ktribe S1 pendant light combines classic and modern elements. The shape of the lampshade, which tapers to a cone, is classic. The material used, PMMA, which is coated with aluminium and only allows light to pass through at the top, is modern. There is a second lampshade inside, made of translucent polycarbonate. Due to the different light transmission properties of the two lampshades, most of the light escapes downwards and less through the lampshade. The Ktribe S1 light was designed by Philippe Starck, who has already developed several groundbreaking models for the Italian-based company FLOS.
