Navicula LED pendant light with beautifully shaped bamboo shade This pendant light comes from the collection of the well-known designer David Trubridge, who has made a name for himself as an advocate of Oko and slow design. With Navicula, the trained shipbuilder has created another extraordinary design model. The lampshade of the pendant light consists of individual pieces of bamboo veneer and the form is modelled on that of a microscopic diatom, as David Trubridge, who lives and works in New Zealand, always draws his inspiration from Natur. The bamboo wood comes from sustainable timber management. To minimise CO2 consumption during transport, the light is delivered to Hausen as a kit with precise assembly instructions. As a result, the transport volume is only a fraction of that required to ship the assembled lamp. LEDs are installed in a row in the lampshade, emitting soft light upwards and providing very cosy, glare-free ambient lighting with an interesting play of shadows. Navicula almost seems to float in the room thanks to the wave-like shape of the lampshade. It is ideal for use as dining table lighting, for example.
