Drop-shaped design hanging light Koura by David Trubridge Born in England, Trubridge once built ships, but in his adopted home of New Zealand he has become a designer who is known far beyond the country's borders and has received numerous awards. Trubridge draws inspiration for his works from the Natur of New Zealand's island landscape. He only uses sustainably sourced materials for his lights, such as the bamboo veneer with which the lampshade of the Koura hanging light is made. The large teardrop shade is made up of numerous individual parts. The wheel-shaped element at the opening of the shade is striking and creates a great shadow effect when the light is switched on. The light is sent flat when folded in order to reduce emissions during shipping due to its smaller volume in relation to the assembled light. Detailed assembly instructions are included for easy assembly. Koura provides adequate ambient lighting with a great light and shadow effect above a dining or living room table, for example, and also makes a splash in a group as a light source in a hotel lobby or restaurant - exquisite craftsmanship
