Organic-looking Mercury LED pendant light
The Mercury LED pendant light by Ross Lovegrove, one of today's most influential designers, is a truly heavenly piece of lighting. His designs are always inspired by nature and consistently feature an organic character, whether it's a bicycle, solar car, clock or light.
This is also evident in this fantastic pendant light. It consists of an upper disc made of cast aluminium that reflects the light emitted by the LEDs, which are built into the reflective elements made of thermoplastic with a shiny chrome-plated surface. This creates indirect lighting that gently illuminates a large area.
Mercury is equipped with a convenient switch-dim function; its light is dimmable in three stages using a conventional wall switch.
Artemide, the Italian manufacturer of the Mercury LED pendant light, was founded in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi and is headquartered in Pregnana near Milan. From there, Artemide distributes its high-quality design products, many of which are considered icons of contemporary design worldwide.
