Infrared heat: Heat flexibly, enjoy consciously
When it comes to energy consumption, it's worth taking a closer look at the technology: The new heaters work with infrared heat and selectively warm people and areas instead of heating the surrounding air extensively. Many models can also be regulated in three heating levels – for example, with 800, 1,200, and 2,000 watts or 900, 1,200, and 2,100 watts. This allows the heat intensity to be flexibly adjusted to the respective situation. Even at full power, running costs remain manageable: A heater with 2,000 watts consumes a maximum of 2 kWh of electricity per hour. With a electricity price of 30 cents per kWh, this corresponds to 60 cents for an hour of warmth; with a electricity price of 20 cents, it's 40 cents. This allows the outdoor season to be comfortably extended without each additional hour outside significantly affecting costs.
