Lighting trends 2026

Lights.co.uk presents lighting styles that will characterise our homes

Fulda, 4. November 2025 - Light is more than just a function: it reflects trends, creates emotions and shapes the atmosphere of entire rooms. The 2026 lighting trends show how much design, materiality and colour influence our attitude to life. From textile lampshades and shiny surfaces to clean minimalism, timeless classics and haptic Japandi design: Lights.co.uk presents the trends that will set the scene in our living spaces in the coming year - inspiring, emotional and timeless at the same time.

Textile lights: Cosiness to switch on

Fabrics such as linen, jute or cotton transform light into a soft, homely experience. Generous shades distribute light evenly and create islands of comfort. Whether in light natural tones or combined with darker accents: Textile lamps invite you to slow down and bring feel-good moments into your everyday life. They are perfect companions for living rooms, bedrooms or reading corners - wherever warmth, closeness and relaxation are required.

Glossy Surfaces: Glossy energy

Luminaires with high-gloss surfaces bring movement into the interior. In bold or pastel colors, they not only reflect light, but also moods - and create a lively, dynamic ambience. From shiny metal to colored plastic, they look like bright, cheerful ambassadors that bring energy into the room. Glossy surfaces make cheerful statements and stand for an optimistic feeling of living that immediately inspires.

Minimalism: light in its purest form

Clear lines, simple geometries and a reduced colour palette from beige to brown to black: minimalist lights radiate calm and order. They are functionally sophisticated, often dimmable or equipped with practical extras such as a CCT function or adjustable spots. They are also available as salt and pepper shakers, illuminated vases or candle holders. This means they can be flexibly adapted to different requirements. Their clean designs without embellishments leave plenty of room for manoeuvre, so that rooms appear spacious and modern at the same time.

Raw Japandi: grounding through naturalness

Raw Japandi combines the clarity of Scandinavian design with the tranquillity of Japanese aesthetics - minimalist, close to nature and tactile. Lights made of plaster, lava or natural stone, finely woven rattan, handmade paper or dark wood invite you to feel and experience surfaces. The focus is on materials with large pores and grains, a coarse weave structure and recognisable unevenness, which go hand in hand with traditional craftsmanship in the manufacturing process. Earthy tones, soft textures and organic shapes bring zen moments into the home. This trend stands for mindfulness, authenticity and a way of living that balances us internally.
