Superegg 300 Pendant Opal/Black Cable - Piet Hein

Super-egg Opal/Black Cable was the result of one of Piet Hein’s thought experiments. Before Hein, there was a tendency to view the earth as right-angled and round: a round ball on a rectangular field, and the round coin on the rectangular notes. In 1959, Piet Hein asked himself which combination of the two shapes was the loveliest and simplest—the result was the Lamé curve, which is the shape that Piet Hein is now famous for.
