Levitate pendant light with an aluminium shade With the beautifully shaped shade and the brass detail that appears to float in the shade, which also gave the Levitate pendant light its name, the light reflects the purist approach of its designers. The Stockholm-based design studio Afteroom created the Levitate range of luminaires. The diffuser, which sits in the shade above the milled brass knob, is made of handmade glass and provides glare-free lighting. As the aluminium shade is opaque, the luminosity is concentrated downwards, providing excellent illumination for tables and counters in living and dining areas. Afteroom is a design studio founded by Taiwanese-born designers Hung-Ming Chen and Chen-Yen Wei, whose mission is to create beautiful products that add value over time.
