WIZ - VERY SMART - VERY SIMPLE
WiZ lamps show what smart lighting has to offer - more simply than ever before. The integrated WLAN chip in every WiZ lamp makes it easy to start using smart lighting at any time. Compared to ZigBee, for example, no additional bridge is required for the full range of functions. With the pre-installed feel-good modes and lighting scenarios, you can also start experiencing smart lighting straight away. The system can later be expanded thanks to compatibility with smart home systems such as IFTTT, Enki and ImperiHome.

What can WiZ lamps do?
Individual light for every everyday situation with up to 16 million colours and 64,000 different colour temperatures, for example for dinner together, reading or working.
Customised lighting routines and timer schedules for everyday life. Examples include an automatic colour temperature curve to support the biorhythm or presence simulation during holidays.
Control all light sources and defined groups via the WiZ app - wherever you are. Can also be controlled with the WiZmote remote control and by voice.
WiZ SpaceSense turns WiZ lamps into motion detectors - without additional sensors. The function is built into every product and uses Wi-Fi Sensing, which works solely with the help of the Wi-Fi signal. At least two WiZ products are required in one room for set-up.
How does a WiZ lamp work?
WiZ lamps have an integrated WLAN chip with which they establish a direct connection to the WiZ cloud. A central hub or gateway is therefore not required. The constant connection also ensures regular system updates.
The smart WiZ range
How does WiZ differ from Philips Hue?
WiZ and Philips Hue both belong to the Signify company, but they work differently. If you are using a smart lamp for the first time, WiZ is the ideal entry-level product. Although Philips Hue is also intuitive, it requires a hub or gateway to utilise the full range of functions.
How do you control WiZ?
Wiz lamps can be controlled in various ways. The basis is always WLAN technology, which is integrated into every WiZ lamp and luminaire.
Via app
With the free WiZ app for Android and iOS, all functions are conveniently available at the touch of a finger on your smartphone or tablet. Operation is intuitive. The light sources can be easily combined into groups or rooms, allowing them to be controlled together. It is also possible to easily set schedules or automatic lighting routines. This means that WiZ lamps can also be used to simulate being on holiday. The app also enables location-independent access while travelling.
By remote control
With the WiZmote remote control, the light can be controlled without an app. The remote control from WiZ includes all functions such as switching on and off or dimming. It also has four memory buttons for individual favourite light scenes. The constantly evolving remote control is available in a new version called Wi-Fi WiZmote. This is a wireless remote control with a range of up to 15 metres that can control all lamps in the room without having to be pointed at the light source like an infrared remote control.
By language
The smart WiZ lamps can be linked to Google Home, the Apple HomePod or the Amazon Echo Dot. The voice assistants Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant and Siri (Shortcuts) can be used via these. Voice control is possible from the smartphone via Google Assistant (Android) and Siri Shortcuts (iOS).
Per sensor
The battery-operated motion sensor from WiZ can be mounted anywhere in the interior and switches on the lights defined by the app when movement is detected. A popular application is in the hallway. When it is difficult to operate a light switch with fully loaded hands, the WiZ motion detector provides convenience.
Which products from other brands are compatible with WiZ?
Some well-known brands also use the WiZ platform and can therefore be easily integrated into the app. This expands the system to include luminaires and light sources from other manufacturers so that WiZ products can be customised even better to suit individual interior styles.
FAQ: Frequently asked questions about WiZ
WiZ includes a range of smart lamps and luminaires that enrich everyday moments with customised light. WiZ lamps are designed for comfort and lightness. The plug & play devices are controlled via the user-friendly app and, depending on the product, can fulfil all the functions of a modern, smart light source. To use the WiZ products, you need a WLAN connection in your own household that covers as much area as possible.
Under the label "Philips Smart LED with WiZ Connected", Signify sells the WiZ range in stationary retail. It is identical to the lamps and lights available at Lampenwelt.de for online retail. WiZ Connected is smart light for an affordable and, above all, simple introduction to smart lighting.
WiZ and Philips Hue are not compatible with each other. These are two systems based on different technologies: WiZ lamps are equipped with a WLAN chip. Philips Hue lamps can be used either via Bluetooth or by integrating them into a hub or gateway. This is usually the Philips Hue Bridge.
Firstly, you purchase a smart lamp from the WiZ range. At home, switch on the WLAN router. Then insert the purchased WiZ lamp into the socket. Now download the WiZ app from the app store. After opening the WiZ app, create a group and switch on the WiZ lamp. The WiZ lamp now appears directly in the app and can be controlled immediately via the app.
