Kalatos designer ceiling light – braided art in a modern interpretation

A stand-alone designer concept, realised with materials developed in-house and combined with a generous lighting effect – the Kalatos ceiling light combines the typical features of the high-quality lamps of the Italian producer Slamp.

The creator of the ceiling light, Elisa Giovannoni, was inspired by traditional braiding. However, instead of woods and vegetable fibres used for baskets, Kalatos uses the Slamp technology polymers. The outer braided ring and the inner matt-white body, whose four internal E27 sockets can be fitted with LED filament lamps, are made of different plastics. The light is emitted diffusely around it. The matt-white diffuser appears particularly bright from below. Kalatos works particularly well with seating areas and tables in living and dining rooms, as well as restaurants and lobbies.
