Spotlights

Spotlights are possibly the most versatile lighting solution on the market today. They can be positioned in a huge variety of ways so as to provide general, accent and task lighting. With such a vast selection of colours, shapes and styles available, they can be used to create atmospheric lighting in virtually any living or working space no matter how big or small.

When placed on a track or recessed into the ceiling spotlights can be angled so as to provide general lighting within a room. The advantage or spotlights over traditional pendants is that when used in multiple each individual spot can be angled so as to focus the light on separate task areas where more intense light is needed, such as desks, dining room tables, kitchen work tops etc, while still providing an overall level of illumination in a room.

Spotlights also make excellent task lighting, both when used individually, such as for a bedside lamp, or with others to provide a specific, bright area of illumination, of the kind needed in kitchens.

The flexibility of movement associated with spot lights also means that they are ideal for providing accent lighting within a living space. Whether used to illuminate a piece of art, to create a hologram (when fitted with a halogen bulb), or as an uplighter to illuminate certain walls, their versatility makes them suitable for almost any lighting task.

It is the physical composition of spotlights which makes them such a versatile lighting choice. They usually comprise a spotlight head (fitted with a bulb), a stirrup and a moveable arm. The flexibility of each part means that even when mounted on a ceiling or wall, they can be angled so as to illuminate virtually any part of a room.

Although the primary function of spotlights is to provide targeted illumination to a specific area, their movable composition means that they can be used either individually, or with others to provide a living space with general and accent lighting as well as their intended task lighting. The range of colours and intensities that they are available in makes their use and effects even more flexible.

When mounted on the sides of buildings, spotlights also make an excellent choice for illuminating outside areas. They are ideal for providing lighting for patios and decking as well as smaller areas such as porches.

Whatever your lighting requirements and decor style, there is guaranteed to be a type of spotlight that will be ideal to illuminate your living space.
